KATHERINE GOVIER has won the Toronto Book Award and the Marian Engel Award. Her novel, CREATION, was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year.

Katherine has been President of PEN Canada and serves as vice-president of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association. She has founded and directs “The Shoe Project” which empowers immigrant women by holding writing workshops and performances in which immigrant women tell their stories of arrival in, and adaptation to, a Canadian community through the lens of a pair of shoes.

The Belleville International Women’s Day Committee, led by Lee Casselman, hopes that many CFUW members will support the Committee and attend this FREE event
