On Saturday, March 21 CFUW presented the annual Family Concert in partnership with the Belleville Public Library.
This year’s presentation was GIGGLE AND STOMP… a Jeunesses Musicale Production. The two performances were well attended and were thoroughly enjoyed by the children, their parents and some grandparents.
Friday the 13th proved lucky for a group of CFUW members and the club. At the invitation of member, Jo-Anne Twamley, they attended the first Kiwanis Club Trivia Night fundraiser. Lynn Becker, Penny Hendricks, Sandi Repic and Jane Taylor were joined by Gary Magwood, Stephen Repic and Mike Taylor to form the Table 10 (CFUW) team.
By combining their knowledge and expertise in a variety of topics, the team was successful in claiming the first place prize as well as having lots of laughs along the way.
The prize of $300 will be donated to our scholarship fund.

This year our club has donated 115 children’s books to the Belleville Firefighters’ Christmas toy drive. The books were delivered to the firehall on Moira Street by Susan Pine, June Boudreau and Jane Taylor. Thank you to all members who contributed to this worthy cause.
Our club has a longstanding tradition of donating children’s books to The Firefighters’ Christmas Toy Drive. Last year we collected 105 books, so it would be wonderful if we could match or even surpass this number. Please bring your donation of new books to the Christmas dinner. Books can also be dropped off at Susan Pine’s home, or call Susan to arrange for pick-up. The deadline for submission is December 11, 2014.
