I would like to propose a toast to the club and the members for pulling off a classy show today. Whether you worked in the gardens or in the kitchen or supported the tour by purchasing a ticket and attending, it was by any standard a very fine event.
For my part I enjoyed working with a frighteningly efficient kitchen crew. I continue to be so very, very impressed with a group of women who do anything that they set out to do. It has been very good to work with you and I want to thank you for making today possible. Our only limit is our imagination.
At this point, we do not have a total of revenues collected. It will be acceptable regardless. We did have some challenges this year that we will not have next year. I will share this information with you as soon as it becomes available.
In the meantime, enjoy the summer hiatus. You have earned it.
Well we did it! We are 75 years old and getting stronger. Last night’s gala dinner was a very fine event with a very full house. Friendships were rekindled and new acquaintances were made. We did it up right thanks to to the efforts of the organizing committee and the participation of the membership present and past.
I hope that the organizing committee will put their feet up and take a deep breath. It was a job well done and we appreciate your efforts.
Four members of our executive attended an Internet Marketing Workshop hosted by The City of Quinte West and Bay of Quinte Tourism on Monday night. We were able to explore ways of increasing our online profile in the community in order to further advertise the Garden Tour and our other activities.
Our annual Garden Tour is the major fundraiser in support of our CFUW Belleville and District Scholarship Program. Many local businesses and individuals have already stepped forward this year to sponsor the event by donating cash or items for the raffle and silent auction to be held the day of the tour.
For a list of sponsors to date and for other news concerning this event, please check the Garden Tour page under Special Events.
